A Certain Slant of Light II – 24×34″ Oil and Charcoal on Mylar. Named after an Emily Dickinson poem. ? Recently my work has been focusing on the figure and processes of entropy – the slow disintigration, chance, ‘the bigness and smallness of things’, like sandstone being weathered by the elements. Each new piece has this in mind.? ? ? There’s a Certain Slant of light, (320)? BY EMILY DICKINSON? ? There’s a certain Slant of light,? Winter Afternoons ?? That oppresses, like the Heft? Of Cathedral Tunes ?? ? Heavenly Hurt, it gives us ?? We can find no scar,? But internal difference ?? Where the Meanings, are ?? ? None may teach it ? Any ?? ‘Tis the seal Despair ?? An imperial affliction? Sent us of the Air ?? ? When it comes, the Landscape listens ?? Shadows ? hold their breath ?? When it goes, ’tis like the Distance? On the look of Death ?? ? #emilydickinson? #rvpgallery#cattogallery#artist#art #painting#oilpainting#contemporaryart#contemporaryrealism #contemporarypainting#painter #Fineart #artgallery#artstudio#modernart#figurativeart#artconsultant#interiordesign#artcollectors
