A bit about this image and what inspired me to paint it.
The title is based from a line from the song Ordinary World by Duran Duran.
The painting is part of a series, where I am inspired by the dream-like imagery of hair and sunlight, the abstract way light shimmers through strands of hair and breaks down, suggesting form.
I used a very subtle brown colour called Van Dykes Brown to tint the artwork. The painting is a study for a much larger piece and the idea was to create a larger paintings based on these initial works. I used a very open weave material to begin to aid the process of breaking down and rebuilding textures with plenty of layers and glazes.
